Optometry school essays

My Interest in Optometry - The sense of sight is very complex, yet fascinating. Optometrists have the amazing opportunity to further explore this sense and help patients feel their mere existence to be nothing less than a miracle. The onset of illnesses of the body also manifest in the eyes and can be diagnosed through changes that occur within them. Upon screening for changes in the eyes, diseases such as Alzheimer’s and diabetes can be diagnosed. Given that I already have a background in vision care, I ultimately find no other rewarding career for myself than one that serves patients to see and appreciate the simple pleasures around them. Optometry Application Essay - My interest into becoming an optometrist had begun when I was in high school; it happened in an unconventional way. It was not through watching videos, or someone explaining to me what optometry was, but rather, seeing the power of it firsthand. There was a point in my life where I felt emotions that I was unable to comprehend at the time. Slaughterhouse Five - Novel Summary Billy Pilgrim is unstuck in time, and so is Slaughterhouse Five. Novel follows Billy's "unhinged" life. If I write every hop, skip, and jump, the summary would be as complicated as the book. These are the basic facts of Pilgrim's life; they are shown in chronological order (but are definitely not in the book): Billy Pilgrim is born in 1922 and grows up in Ilium, New York. He is a funny-looking youth, he does reasonably well in high school, enrolls in night classes at the Ilium School of Optometry, and is soon drafted into the army and the Second World War. My Father's Grand Opening - The day I entered my father’s grand opening to his new business, I was overwhelmed with the diverse crowd that surrounded the party. As the party started, I was introduced to everyone as the owner’s daughter; everyone seemed normal to me; however I met this gentleman whose smile captivated my attention. It turned out that he is a well known and very established Professor at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. I started talking to him regarding the dental school, as I was planning my future in regards to what I should be doing, in terms of a health care career, whether it was medicine, dentistry, optometry or medical research. Billy Pilgrim as a Saint or Nutcase in Slaughterhouse Five - Billy Pilgrim as a Saint or Nutcase in Slaughterhouse Five Billy is a nut, he's just plain bonkers. For started Billy has a history of mental problems he has been institutionalized twice. The first time was when he father died this was while he was in training, before he went off to war. The second time was when he came back from the war. Plus he had the head injury from the plane crash. He only started talking about the Tralfamadorians after the plane. And it's odd that every thing about the Tralfamadorians is from those good old Kilgore Trout novels. [tags: Papers]

Myopia - Myopia is a vision problem that has an effect on about one-third of the population. This condition often sets in at childhood and is one that many of your family and friends suffer from everyday. Even I experience it everyday.
